Light and the Glory: Did God have a plan for America?by Peter Marshall, David Manuel
The Light and the Glory answers these questions, and many, many more. As we look at our nation's history from God's point of view, we begin to have an idea of how much we owe a very few -- and how much is still at stake. Peter Marshall conducts a traveling and speaking ministry in various churches across America. A graduate of Yale University and Princeton Theological Seminary, he formerly served as pastor of the East Dennis Community Church on Cape Cod. He is the son of the late Senate Chaplain of the same name and author Catherine Marshall

This book is more than impactful in many ways. After reading it I have truly tried to go after the facts and info to try to disprove most or some of its findings. All I have come to is proof of something I did not want to recognize and that was that this republic was thought of and put together well before Adam was thought of. Yes as once a so called Democrat I to have changed to something I need to figure out. I am a believer that this country is and was paid with a price and is now in the battle for the truth. It has made me realize that this country is a shining city on the hills which in turn only Evil could want to take down, out of only envy and jealousy. This book will challenge those who want to find out what the definition of truth for it proves it. After reading this I needed a self examination to educate myself. My eyes have opened to a revolution in thinking. Hope is that ever citizen could have the chance to read this book.
This is the best book I have ever read on our nations christain heritage. I think it should be a required reading not only for adults, but be in our schools. It gave me a real sense that God had a plan, but it is up to us to fulfill it or be ready for judgement.
This book is one of the best books on American history that I have ever read. It includes many details that I had never known before. The authors did extensive research on this book and it is evident in their book. The book is very interesting and keeps one's attention. It is also well organized and thoughtfully laid out. I enjoyed this book very much.
This is one of the finest writings of the history of Early America. I appreciated the detail & research that was compiled to make such a story told with utmost respect for all parties involved. Columbus was portrayed as human, a man who made mistakes, yet you couldn't help want him to succeed at what his heart led him to do. Especially eye-opening was how the authors pointed out divine interventions of how the pilgrims arrived & survived, as well as before, during & after many battles, some unmistakedly miraculous!! This book was thought-provoking & helped answer many questions I've always had about early America & brought a new appreciation for my freedom here & what it cost.
