Meet the Author

Allen Carr was born in 1934. The first in his family to enter the 'professions', he received articles from a prestigious firm of City accountants and began a career in a business he soon came to loathe. After filling a series of highly paid positions, punctuated by a two-year stint in the army as part of his country's National Service programme, Allen reached the nadir of his disillusionment with accountancy. Fed up with the old boys' network and complacent attitude, he took a completely different direction, starting a property development business, initially with a friend and later striking out on his own with his wife, Joyce. By this point in his life, Allen was chain-smoking 100 cigarettes a day, despite the fact that his older sister, Marion, and his father had died prematurely of lung cancer. After repeated failed attempts to stop smoking, Allen's conversion into a non-smoker was as dramatic as it was totally unexpected. His discovery of the kernel of what would become the Easyway method brought about another life-changing decision: to dedicate his life to the fight against nicotine addiction. Allen made this decision in July 1983. Since then he has built Easyway into an international brand with clinics in over 20 countries across the world, and developed his method into the most effective stop smoking therapy currently available. In 2006 Allen was diagnosed with lung cancer and passed away that November.

    YIPPEE I'm free!

Prior to reading this lil' book I read Allen Carr's The Easy Way To Stop Smoking. I quit smoking on 7.28.08. This lil' book conveys the message also and can stand alone, but I recommend it mostly as a companion or starter to the full size book. I advocate Allen Carr's method because it works. I even decided to quit drinking on 2.22.09 after reading another one of Allan's books. I've recommended these books to my friends and family and five of em' have also read/quit! Like myself all five had many previous failed attempts at quitting and each of us spent more than ½ of our lives smoking or drinking. Now we're thrilled to be free and it was EASY! You can be free too, easily, and there are only infinite gains ahead of you with nothing to loose! Yippee!!!

    Really Works!

Awesome. Someone told me that when I finished reading the book (the full version) I'd be able to just quit. Well, the full version was too wordy for me but this one was perfect. When I finished reading the book I smoked my last one - it really worked. The books approaches quitting from a viewpoint that the average person would never have thought of - and it works! Would recommend to everyone!

    highly recommended

I have tried every possible way to quit smoking & I always went back. This is the first time I ever could say...I will never smoke again. It's going on a year & all I think is how the heck did I have that nasty, nasty habit for almost 40 years. I am smoke free & always will be. Thank you Alan Carr.

    It really works!!!!!

After smoking for 13 years, and trying to quit for the last 7, I finally found something that works. Read it once, had one last cigarette, read it again, and presto!!!!!! I'm done with cigarettes forever. Highly recommended.
