День, коли вона вперше піднялася з моря
similar joyful festivities were celebrated on that day
Подібні радісні гуляння відзначалися і в цей день
she thought about the wonder and hope she felt that day
Вона думала про подив і надію, які відчула того дня
with those pleasant memories, she too joined in the dance
З цими приємними спогадами вона теж приєдналася до танцю
on her paining feet, she poised herself in the air
На своїх хворих ногах вона піднялася в повітря
the way a swallow poises itself when in pursued of prey
Те, як ластівка врівноважується, коли її переслідують здобич
the sailors and the servants cheered her wonderingly
Матроси і слуги здивовано підбадьорювали її
She had never danced so gracefully before
Вона ще ніколи не танцювала так граціозно
Her tender feet felt as if cut with sharp knives
Її ніжні ноги були наче порізані гострими ножами
but she cared little for the pain of her feet
Але її мало хвилював біль у ногах
there was a much sharper pain piercing her heart
