The Live Earth Global Warming Survival Handbook is the official companion volume to Live Earth concerts, 24 hours of nonstop concerts broadcast from around the world on July 7, 2007. The book presents 77 essential skills for stopping climate change—and for living through it. It is a fun, compelling, and sly deconstruction of a survival guide, think Boy Scout Handbook crossed with WorldChanging atop the Worst-Case Scenario Survival Handbook, that offers equal parts tongue-in-cheek suggestions, practical advice, factual information, and bluesky dreaming of ways to save the world.

Each skill is presented on a spread featuring a bright, full-color instructional illustration, a brief introduction to the skill and its core ideas, a set of instructions, spin-off ideas, and scientific and environmental facts. The book also includes a resource guide that provides useful resources for the ecoconscious reader.

Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble
The official companion to Live Earth (the 24-hour, seven-continent concert series that took place on July 7, 2007), this little book has value far beyond its souvenir status. It's an accessible primer on climate change, presenting eye-opening facts about global warming and 77 real-world strategies for reducing our impact on the planet. Environmentalist David de Rothschild packs a ton of useful information into 160 colorfully illustrated pages: worksheets for calculating the size of your carbon footprint, dozens of energy- and money-saving household tips, and suggestions for making some surprisingly simple but high-impact lifestyle changes. Whether your eco-consciousness is brand spanking new or fairly well developed, you'll find something of value in this hopeful guide to saving the world -- one small step at a time.

Warm And Fuzzy For The Global Warming Survival Handbook

This funny book has a dose of reality, a sense of humor, and some wonderful tips for helping prevent or live through Global Warming. Though the book was silly and fun, maybe we should get a bit more serious on protecting the Earth. I still enjoyed reading it nonetheless.
