The Long Road [Explicit Lyrics]

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Stephen Thomas Erlewine
Thanks to their hit "How You Remind Me," Nickelback became the poster boys for neo-grunge in 2001, but 2003's The Long Road suggests they're really just heavy rock hucksters. After all, this album ends with "See You at the Show," a neo-grunge "We're an American Band" that invites their audience to come on along and party down, but like every other song here, it's performed in the band's inimitable style -- loose rhythms, distorted guitars, power harmonies, and Chad Kroeger's gruff vocals. It's the same sound as Silver Side Up, but a little bit more professional and polished, which does have the neat trick of sanding down some of Nickelback's more strident ...

    Best Rock Album in Years

This is a great CD. Quick question. Which bassist really knows his way around four strings? The one for Nickelback. The best part about this CD is that some songs just rock and make you want to punch stuff. Other songs are mellow and make you want to hug people. Buy this album now if you want your bum-bum rocked off.

    one of the best...

this album rocks. yea, it's a little dark but it still is good. this band has made a song on this album for everyone to enjoy. from losing someone (someday) to not needing someone (another hole in the head), this album allows everyone to find something on it.

    DON'T BELIEVE EVERYONE ELSE'S OPINION!!!

some of these people think they suk. because they are trully not good rock fans. Nickelback is one of my favorite bands. i think their combo of hardcore lyrics with blasting Les Paul guitar riffs is awesome! if you like true hard rock, by this album.

not bad, if you are in a dark mood

Hey, I like this cd lots, but I can't listen to it if I'm in any kind of good mood. It's more of a dark, sad, angry, etc. cd. I totally recommend buying it, just don't listen to it on the day of your wedding, ok?

The Long Road - Fun Stuff

This album has been in my car CD player almost constantly for three months and I can honestly say I've not begun to tire of this group's sound. In my experience usually I only discover a liking for one or two tracks of any given purchased album, but what a pleasant surprise to continually add another one to my list. What is there not to hold my attention, what with the strong voice of Chad Kroeger and good old rock and roll guitar playing. The lyrics at times may be less than inspiring, but who really cares? "Someday" was the hook that snagged me, but definitely can't dismiss most all the other songs. I especially enjoy the fresh new sound brought to an old favorite "Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting"...it definitely lite up this 40-something year-old.
