This is the third book in the 666 Park Avenue series which was loosely adapted for the ABC television series. This is probably not a stand alone book because it begins with a witch war in progress. Gabriella Pierce delivers a fun and entertaining read with a flavor similar to classic chick-lit. If you are familiar with Bridget Jones' Diary, any of Sophie Kinsella's work or the Betsy Queen of the Vampires series you'll feel right at home. Witches and their friends gather over tea in the kitchen plotting schemes to take down an evil immortal. There is a lot of angst about a psychotic witch who sets everything she can on fire. There is some travel to favorite locales like London, Paris and the Hamptons. This book is not great literature but it's fun. Check it out!
What a wickedly delicious tale Gabriella Pierce has woven and I am utterly shocked I am only just now learning about this series at the tail end as well as it is also an ABC TV series, which is now on my watch list. "A Circle is far more powerful than a witch, Jane, and more stable, too.’ Emer added.” This book takes place in the Upper East Side of New York City, where Jane’s mother-in-law, Lynne, is a witch, but all too soon realizes she is a horrifying ancient evil being behind the mass of missing persons. Jane and her friends are determined to stop this grand evil before anymore lives are put at risk and there is only one way for her to do this. With her husband Malcolm by her side gaining her trust, she must learn to harness the same powers and use them against Lynne to bring her down before it is too late. If you haven’t picked up this book or any of the prior books in this series I highly urge you to stop hesitating and pick it up. It is a quick read and an addicting one at that. *You can view the original review at City Book Review
