Overview

"Exiles Among the Stars" is a prequel to my 1997 novel, "Exile's End."

"The Mad Fisherman's Daughter" isn't a true sequel to my 1999 novel "Regs," but those readers who wanted to know more about the dreaded Ast will get their wish!

Exiles Among the Stars: Long after all humans flee war-ravaged, poisoned Earth to live elsewhere in the galaxy, patrol ship cadets Nadia McLean, Alan Robie, and Anders Valeria complete their last assignment together. When Nadia chooses Anders to be her husband, now that their military hitch is over and she's free to respond to his courtship, Alan reacts by launching a quest for vengeance that will last for the rest of all three comrades' lives.

The Mad Fisherman's Daughter: Christabel, daughter of Janek the fisherman and Eleen the magistrate, can't stop the mysterious aliens called Ast from annexing her home colony-not even by using her power as a Sector High Court justice. So, like it or not, duty calls her back to the last place in the universe she wants to see again.

What Chris doesn't know is that her aging father's increasingly troublesome visions are actually nightmarish memories from his time as a prisoner aboard an Ast starship. Now their planet's population will live or die, depending on how quickly Chris can unlock those memories' meaning-and on how successfully she can outwit a species that stands to lose everything, if humans and Ast make peace.
