As a novella is was nearly perfect. I have only two very small complaints. First, it was an odd beginning for a character imtroduction. It was just too cluttered with unneccessary information, and dividing it with "name" headers felt amateurish. Secondly, nobody, absolutely nobody in the motley group of sleuths would be caught dead drinking Sam Adams! At worst they would drink Shipyard, and more likely Seadog (as it's brewed in Brunswick). However based on the character descriptions the most likely scenario of all is that "Hairey" brews his own beer!

It has a good story line, easy to follow and still didn't give away the mystery too soon.

The book is what I call a "novella". Short, easy to read and very interesting but a little disconnected in the flow of the story. I probably wouldn't reccomend it to friends as I don't think it's their type of story. I might read another of his works just to see if it goes along the same path of "Maine Event". As for book clubs, I'd be interested to hear what they think if it.

First time reading this author and for the most part enjoyed the storyline just wish there was a little more connecting the dots in certain parts. I would read another of his books.

It is a little slow reading. The ending left you wondering how many things were going to turn out, didn't give you closure on a lot of what the book was about.

Cool story and interesting style. Not the same old, same old.

More like a book report with character backgrounds. Only 34 pages long and by page 10 there was still no story. Boring!

I didn't realize this was a novella when I downloaded it. It was over as quick as it was getting interesting. I think it would be a good little book if the author had expanded on it. At 34 pages it was a quick little read.

This was a great novella. I needed a short story and this was perfect. It had many characters but was easy to follow.

Overview
Curiosity brought Josh and Dana together . . . and almost got them killed. Two independent people in their mid-life met through a Maine coast research project that turned deadly. They probed an anomaly and rattled a lethal business kingpin. Josh, ex-Marine turned journalist, and Dana, the young widow of a 'black ops' Navy Seal. Their intellectual exercise became more action than theoretical.
