Overview

The biggest collection of new Sherlock Holmes stories since Sir Arthur Conan Doyle laid down his pen - nearly 200,000 words of superb fiction featuring the Great Detective by masters of historical crime, including Stephen Baxter, H. R. F. Keating, Michael Moorcock and Amy Myers.

Almost all the stories here are specially written; the cases presented in the order in which Holmes solved them. The result is a new life of Sherlock Holmes, with a continuous narrative alongside the stories that identifies the 'gaps' in the canon and places the new and hitherto unrecorded cases in sequence. Plus an invaluable complete Holmes chronology.

Marianne is an important fictional formulation of Sand's thinking on the role of women and the nature of democracy. This edition includes a long biographical preface which quotes extensively from her correspondences.

    Holmes and Watson live again

This is a collection of short stories on cases that Watson alluded to in the original stories. Each one is by a different author, presented in chronological order, so you start with Holmes' first case, and then progress through his career. Most of the stories are well done, and capture the flavor of Doyle's originals. If you're a Holmes fan, you'll like this.

Acceptable, but not as good as the original

It's a Mammoth Book, but the stories are uneven. Some are inventive and carry the flavor of the original, but others less so.

    I Also Recommend:

    A nice collection.

This is a good collection of Holmes pastiches. Some are very good, some not so much, but all are entertaining and a lot of fun for the Holmes fan.
