The Man from Snowy River [Original Motion Picture Soundtrack]by Bruce Rowland
One of the sleeper hits of the early '80s, George Miller's Australian western THE MAN FROM SNOWY RIVER was popular with critics and audiences who latched onto the film's old-fashioned sensibilities and romance. Bruce Rowland's memorable music score is marked by rousing and thundering passages in a traditional western manner ("Jim's Ride," "Jim Brings In The Brumbies"), and others distinguished by Rowland's signature lyricism,("Jessica's Theme," Mountain Theme").The sheer sweep of Rowland's music makes THE MAN FROM SNOWY RIVER soundtrack worth revisiting, whether or not the listener has seen the movie itself -- you can conjure images in your mind of riding off into the sunset just from hearing Rowland's splendid score.

The Man From Snowy River soundtrack is a simply marvelous collection of songs from the movie. Each song portrays the vivid emotions that you experience in the movie. The chase songs are inspiring and awe-some, fully capturing the essence of the entire plot. The songs do the beautiful mountains and hills complete justice, taking your breath away and always leaving you wanting to come back for more and experience the same heart-rush again and again.
One of the best soundtracks ever written for a movie. Actually, it is some of the best music ever written. The music in the soundtrack makes you feel and makes your heart move with every note. There is emotion in Bruce Rowland's music which is hard to find nowadays. It is a shame that modern moviemakers aren't knocking on Rowland's door for their soundtracks!
