March of the Orphans and the Battle of Stones River Author, Kevin Horgan creates a compelling fact based novel that gives us a glimpse of one of the bloodiest battles of the Civil War, the Battle of Stones River. This battle was fought by the inexperienced youngsters of the Orphan Brigade of the Rebel Army. Horgan's storyline and descriptive writing allows the reader to feel the struggles of war that the soldiers endured rather than just read about it. The characters and dialogue vividly capture the attitudes and tone of the times. This is an exceptional story about loyalty, friendship, courage and survival during one of the most difficult periods in American history. A great read that holds your attention from beginning to end!

A great story about a group of invalid soldiers in the civil war...a group of heroes that I didn’t even know existed. Thanks to the author for a very inspiring and entertaining read. Makes me so thankful for all of our military which enables us to enjoy our freedom and liberties! ad I did!
