Marshall has written a number of mysteries and owns a literary agency. In this companion to The Marshall Plan for Novel Writing, he concentrates on the nitty gritty of producing a novel. Marshall deals specifically with writing genre fiction as the type most likely to be picked up by a publisher. The first half of the book gives the writer help in building characters, developing plot, and setting goals. The second half is the Plan Blueprint, a 58-page section of fill-in-the-blank sheets that will help dedicated students of the method produce a novel. The marketing information included concentrates on the manuscript: how it should look, how many pages it should have, paper weight, etc. This is a nice addition to writing collections, although the worksheets and charts may make this book inappropriate for some public libraries.     Wow - What a Plan!

    This is a 'must-have' if you are serious about seeing your first-time novel published. In 'The Marshall Plan Workbook,' Evan Marshall breaks down the process into clear steps that really help you to define your novel's characters, plot, relationships, pace, and so forth. I was amazed how quickly and in-depth my characters took shape, how the schemes, scenes and plots developed my manuscript by using the tools in the workbook. The Marshall Plan Workbook was the 'write' plan for me. See if it is for you.

    The top

    This is the best book for writers wanting to write novels. It gives insperation and good advice. Anybody having a writers block needs this book.
