Whiskey, the mischievous imp of Dodge City, thought it was bad enough for her brothers to sell their shares of her father's ranch to their US Marshal friend, Morgan, but what was even WORSE was that those men all had it in mind that Whiskey would actually marry Morgan--this hard, firm, LARGE man she had barely met before.
Morgan thought Whiskey just needed a firm hand to keep her in line, but Whiskey, who is constantly getting tied up in ridiculous, dangerous situations, is nearly impossible to control, and things get even more complicated when her twin sister comes into town, kicking up even more trouble at home.
But Morgan has a dark shadow following in his path, threatening the peaceful life he meant to create with Whiskey. Will they come through this together? Or will Morgan's past bring tragedy on everything he now holds dear?

I have never written a review for this book before. However, I felt as if I should write one for "The Marshall's..." because no one else has done so yet. I have have read several of Kaye's books and enjoyed them. I was reluctant to purchase this one because there were no opinions posted for me to review. I must say that this is the best book that I have read in a while and the best that I have read of Kaye's. She truly demonstrates what a great author she is through the writing of this book. This book contains everything that I look for in a book. There is romance, humor, mystery, erotica, and a woman in the end that is rescued . What makes this book different is the man falls in love first instead of a woman swooning all over a man, wow. Secondly, Whiskey is not some little, delicate thing but has a mind of her own. She does get herself into trouble often which gets her in trouble with both her brothers and the Marshall. I hope that Kaye continues to write in this style.
I loved this book. It shows how a female can be so stubborn and hide her true feelings. I love that after a very short while Marshal began to love Whiskey and didnt put up with any of her nonsense. I bought this book off of pure guess. I love books with at least 400 pages, and this one is in the ballpark. Great cowboy story. :)
