I loved this book. To see many "pure" mathematical theories expounded in direct physical terms illuminates understanding in new and fascinating ways. The materials is presented in straight forward manner, and relies on only the simplest understandings of physics/mechanics (and even these are fully explained too). Once you see the methods you start to understand deep connections from Pythagoras theorem to non-perpetual motion machines and the balance of torque on a free standing figure in equilibrium.
If there's any criticism its of the later chapters & of the deeper topics - they can be less clear and a definite step change in effort to understand. But perhaps the author is leaving some room for the average reader to actually expand their ability by using the understanding gained in earlier chapters.
Green's theorem and the deeper items in later chapters are slightly less intuitive - but still excellent physical and direct explanations are given.
