Meet the Author

Tory Zellick, CMT blogs about careviging for The Huffington Post and has been a featured expert in top media outlets including CNN, ABC, and NBC. When she was 18, Zellick was like every other high school graduate—until the day her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. Suddenly, with no prior experience or training, Zellick found herself responsible for managing all aspects of her motheræs care. Not only did Zellick start keeping track of everything related to her motheræs medical, legal, and insurance matters, but she went so far as to study massage—empowering her to lower her motheræs pain levels. Now a decade later and three years after her motheræs passing, Zellick has published The Medical Day Planner: The Guide to Help Navigate the Medical Maze (Victory Belt Publishing, June 2012). The book is a step-by-step, ailment-neutral guide on how to tackle each aspect of caring for oneself or a loved one who is ill.

A must-read for patients and caregivers alike!

This important book fills a gap in the market for caregiver information with its comprehensive and organizational approach. Spiral-bound, it contains tabs on many different aspects of caregiving such as prescriptions, procedure history, day planner, and phone book. Each section contains an explanation on how to fill out the information. As both a patient and former caregiver, I highly recommend this resource as an effective informational and organizational tool.
