Bill Baldwin returns to the days of EE "Doc" Smith and others in this classic tale of Galatic War. It partly Political and entirely entertaining with all the aspects you would want in stories like this. I have read them all and awaited each with anticipation. The characters are engageing and the situations and events that occur keep the story moving and the reader waiting for more. The Cost of Freedom is Eternal Vigalance and these books show how the loss of this thought and belief can affect those who do not follow the precept. Class struggles in the Empire and stotic members of the Royals give way for the undermining of the Galatic Empire in stories in which those who care for freedom and equality can exceed and excell in this situation. Grand planets and diverse situation excell in these books. I am glad to have found them and wish Mr. Baldwin would write more.
