    The Merriam-Webster Dictionary

I chose this dictionary to use on my computer desk. It is so convenient to look up words, spelling, etc. It doesn't take up a lot of room, and is sufficient for my needs. I recommend this dictionary for any age. It is excellent for content in a small book.

    This book saved my life!

Before I had this amazing book of knowledge I was never able to write what I wanted to say. I would always try to put letters together in random order hoping that they would spell words. With this book I am now able to write in full sentences...even paragraphs! This book has truly saved my life. Thank you Merriam Webster

    Unpleasantly surprised

I purchased this dictionary as it is recommended for some of the courses I take. My daughter has also tried to use it for her school work. Both of us have been surprised and disappointed by the number of words that we are NOT able to find in this dictionary. Fortunately this was not a huge expense, but I will now be looking for a better one to buy. Probably OK for general use, but I wouldn't recommend it for class work.

    more from this reviewer

    Dictionary

Comes in very handy at work, I use it on a daily basis. My spelling leaves alot to be desired. I'm a horrible speller! I enjoy books so much more than getting on the computer for things like spell checking and such.

Fine Little Dictionary! I've been using this dictionary for yea

    Fine Little Dictionary!
I've been using this dictionary for years. It's light weight, easy to read and inexpensive. After it wears out, I replace it. The shelf life is usually about 10 years before the pages get crumbly and produce an odor. I bought three, this time; one for my bedroom. one for my living room where I do most of my reading, and one for my car where I read during lunch hour at work. I also keep one at my desk at work - that one, purchased in 2008, is still in good shape. This dictionary is good when writing, to verify the spelling of words I may not use everyday. This was especially good for me when proof reading was part of my job. Nothing beats a dictionary. Computer spell checks have their place, but they don't always know what the writer means and will suggest an incorrect change.

    One of the best!!

Truly impeccable and unrivaled in my opinion. I would consider myself well versed in the usage of dictionaries and this is definitely at the top of my list as being one of the most incredible and reliable paperbacks out there today which I would have no problem recommending to others.
