A foundling, nurse Ainsley Crawford has no idea that she carries a genetic gift, and Delano aims to keep it that way. He must keep her close, and ignorant, for he can leave nothing to chance. He manipulates events to ensure her unwitting cooperation. But when Delano's arch enemy Radak Janecek mounts an all-out assault to destroy Delano and the fruits of his research, Delano is forced to draw Ainsley even closer to protect her. Inevitably, the attraction that has sparked between them from the first flares hot and urgent. Ainsley sees no reason why that attraction shouldn't be consummated, but Delano knows succumbing to it is not just ill-advised; it could literally be the death of him.

I received a copy of this book from the author in return for an honest review.
I love vampire romances, so when I was offered the opportunity to read this one, I grabbed at it and I was not sorry.
Ainsley Crawford is a fantastic character. She is a caring and loving person, which helps with her profession as a nurse. I liked her character very much. She is stubborn and brave. When she meets Delano Bowen, the attraction to him is immediate.
Delano Bowen is an intriguing character. He is a vampire with a mission. He is trying to find a cure for his disease. He has a bit of a ruthless streak in him, but he also has a softer side. I didn't like his actions in the beginning, even though I understood his motivation. However, I warmed up to him as the story progressed.
This is a fantastic romance story. There have been many vampire romances over the years, but none of them (that I have read) have used vampirism as a disease. This approach was a refreshing change. I loved how the story developed. There was even a few surprises and twists that I did not see coming. There is a wonderful mix of danger, action and romance that kept me hooked from the first page. The story moved at a fast pace, but was not rushed. The romance scenes are quite spicy, but not overly erotic. All in all, this was an enjoyable and entertaining read!
Norah Wilson has written a wonderful paranormal romance that is an exciting and thrilling ride. I am looking forward to reading more books by this author. I highly recommend this book if you love a fantastic paranormal romance or books with sexy vampires. - Lynn Worton
