The New Testament is the story of how all the promises made byGod in the Old Testament were kept-and what that means for ustoday. The nation of Israel had many hopes: hope for a deliverer, hope for restored fellowship with God, and hope for the world to beput right. The New Testament explains how those promises were keptand how, if we are Christians, they are kept in us as well.
Mark Dever surveys the historical context, organization, andtheology of each New Testament book, in light of God's OldTestament promises. His message is that of the New Testamentitself, one of hope fulfilled.

This book is a great resource. I was using one of the middle chapters to get an overview of Ephesians, and the navigation system worked great. I got to the pages I wanted with ease.

This book is great for an intro and companion to the New Testament. I have no complaint about Dever's ideas or writing. My only complaint is that the eBook has many typographical errors and occasionally inserts in random script around quotations.
