After reading "The Metamorphosis" for my college English class, I found it not only bizarre but difficult to interpret. Knowing I would have to write a major thesis paper on it, I asked around for ideas and help. A friend of mine told me about how Barne's and Noble has a downloadable version of SparkNotes that might help. Taking their adivce, I look up "The Metamorphosis" on B&N and lo and behold, there it is! Sparknotes "The Metamorphosis"! My friend downloaded and together we pieced together the underlying meanings of Kafka's story. SparkNotes interpreted Kafka's writings into a more easily understood manner. It explained to me what he was possibly thinking when he was writing "The Metamorphosis" as well as what was going on in his life.
I recommend this to any student who has difficulty interpreting Kafka's writing.
