My son is a 5th grader at a private school which is somewhat challenging but does not offer much in logical thinking, abstract thinking or history of the world. We have supplemented the first two volumes by reading a few chapters every night over the past year. My son can't wait everyday to see what happens next and has used the informationin the books to connect with everyday experiences over and over again. He was able to go to Europe this summer and the information in this book that we read before he left opened his world up and enabled him to ask question after question to the tour guides. This series has led him to a curiousity to now read everything about the world that he can get his hands on. He has also become extremely geographically aware and looks at his globe several times a day to connect something he is learning about. It has definitely made him much more of a curious learner and abstract thinker. THanks for offering this series. We can't wait until the fourth one is available!
