Overview

All Salem Grimes expects as she walks into church is her regular Tuesday morning AA meeting, but when she encounters a dead body instead, she does what any self-respecting clueless amateur would do--she freaks completely out and shouts words good Christians aren't even supposed to know

But when Salem learns that her ex-husband Tony is accused of the murder, she wonders if God might be steering her toward something. A chance to help Tony. A chance to make up for some of the pain she caused him when they were married and she was busy drinking too much and sowing wild seeds.

Tony is going to need divine assistance if he's counting on Salem Grimes to keep him from injustice--the girl is a piping hot mess and always has been. With the help of her new octogenarian BFF Viv and the emotional support of her dog Stump, can Salem keep her act together long enough to sow some good seeds for a change?

I'm rating this lower because I hate being blindsided by Christian fiction. I would prefer that the author be upfront rather than learning about it after I've downloaded the book. While it may or may not affect my choice to purchase other religions and cultures should be made aware in advance.

Really enjoyed this book! It was an unexpected & humorous treat featuring a heroine who is in AA, with an 'over 80' wickedly delightful sidekick! I was Eager to continue on with this series & detracted 1 star only in Frustration as Books 2 & 3 were not available! Only 2 short stories were listed on Nook! I REALLY don't understand the concept of offering the 1st in a Series if you will Not be able to continue reading the rest. This is not the first time this has happened-- just wish it could be the Last! Aside from that- I highly recommend checking it out- it made me laugh out loud! : )

I have never wanted a fictional character to be real more than Salem Grimes! I actually read Book Two first. It was a free offering on Facebook. I loved it so much that I had to purchase this Book Two. The first pages had me laughing hysterically, the last pages had me weeping with joy. And running the gamut of emotions in between. I am so grateful to have found Kim Hunt Harris's fantastic books. They are so worthwhile and I look forward to any new writings of hers.
