To say the least he is not an easy man to get along with. She does not have a whole lot going for her at the moment so she agrees to marry him. Turns out he's not as tough as he seems and she's not the open book she appears to be.. Good reading

    Love this book!

Well worth the time and money. A book that shows us how and what women went through to survive. A midwife is blamed for the death of a mother during the delivery of her child. The baby's father is lost when trying to work his farm and care for a new born baby. This book will grab you early on and keep you up untill the end. Well written and a great story,

    Good book!

Quiet brooding man, but is a nice considerate gentleman. The woman has a past secret she tries to keep hidden(which I hated she kept from him). The only thing I hate about the book is she kept her secret... But, I guess a conflict was needed
