Lemmon offers a surprisingly frumpy romance between Landon Downey, a man comfortable only when he’s in control, and Kimber Reynolds, a live-in-the-moment woman, in the third Love in the Balance contemporary (after Hard to Handle). They become friends after meeting on vacation, and reunite when Landon needs an emergency nanny for his nephew. Kimber couldn’t be less qualified or Landon more desperate. A premise suited for hijinks and hilarity is overwhelmed by a tepid arrangement between the two, hinging on the notion of completing a list of sexual activities. Instead of a delightful romp with these personable characters, Lemmon delivers a series of clichés while avoiding erotic interactions. When the relationship becomes complicated, the author takes a scolding and disapproving tone while describing normal frictions in a budding romance. This would be forgivable with the couple’s potential for passion, but the intimacies and strength of affection are skipped over, inadequately replaced with fond recollections of happier days. (July)

Meet the Author

Jessica Lemmon has always been a dreamer. At some point, she decided head-in-the-clouds thinking was childish, went out, and got herself a job . . . and then she got another one because that one was lousy. And when that one stopped being fulfilling, she went out and got another . . . and another. Soon it became apparent she'd only be truly happy doing what she loved. And since "eating potato chips" isn't a viable career, she opted to become a writer. With fire in her heart, she dusted off a book she'd started years prior, finished it, and submitted it. It may have been the worst book ever, but it didn't stop her from writing another one. Now she has several books finished, several more started, and even more marinating in her brain (which currently resides in the clouds, thankyouverymuch), and she couldn't be happier. She firmly believes God gifts us with talents for a purpose, and with His help, you can create the life you want. (While eating potato chips.)

Jessica is an ex-meat-eater, writer, artist, dreamer, wife, and den mother to two dogs.

hmmm...This just didn't really click with me. I have to go a bit spoiler, so stop reading now if you don't want to know some of what goes on. I think this didn't click with me because I'm really tired of the whole lets have sex with no strings of course and everything will be fine. I'm pretty much over that whole storyline, and as I was reading this I found myself wanting to skip over a lot of it. And the storyline later just didn't do it for me. I went with 3 stars because I still liked the characters and I did enjoy the previous book in the series, so I will continue to read the next books in the series.

I love millionaires and billionaires. Landon...gotta love a man who has no clue about children but wants to do the very best he can for his relatives. I love that about him, that he was able and willing to take on his nephew without even thinking twice. Kimber was fantastic, the old crush on Landon finally getting a chance to blossom. I was happy to see these two get their happily ever after.

Amazing read!  The author really gets romance.  I loved the chemistry between Kimber and Landon and loved that their relationship seemed real.  (Everyone has problems, right?!)  Great book!  Can't wait to read her next!

"So, honey." My mom says while serving dinner " I heard you started mowing lawns." "Yah." I grumble while staring at my bland gray meatloaf. Its because of the meat. Its not even plain ground turkey. Its SARDINES in ground turkey. My mom 'invented' it. She was grinding the turkey when I (I was 4) emptied the sardine can in the turkey when she wasn't looking. I didn't know what I was doing, I mean, I was 4. But she ended up loving it and so thats how she makes meatloaf all the time. My older sister, Elaine (whos 12), is killing me for doing it. But for my younger brother, Alex (3), its all hes ever known. I don't know how anyone, ESPECIALLY mom and Alex, could ever love anything so discusting. But I have to eat it. So I just douse it in ketchup, and eat the ketchup and let the meatloaf fall down my shirt. So thats what I do. "I actually found a good job offer." My dad says. "We're moving! No!" My sister Elaine shouts. "I refuse to move again!" My family has moved 4 times since Elaine was born. After she was born, my parants moved closer to my moms parants in Chicago. Then I was born and we moved to Springfeild. Then my dad got an awsome job offer in Texes, so we moved there. We lived there for a year, then my dad got a even better job offer, so here we are, in New York City suburbs. "No, for Joel." My dad answers. He turnes to me. "The movie theater has a premeir of the new 'Garfeild' movie. They need someone to wear a Garfeild costume for 2 weeks. You intrested?" I give him a look, as to say "How much do they pay?". He gets it and answers "They pay $500 a week. Intrested?" I shrug. "Good enough"

This was my first read by Jessica Lemmon but definitely won't be my last. This book had a great chemistry between the main characters and just the right amount of steam. Engaging plot that I truly enjoyed. Great book! PSP

My Thoughts: Since I was so impressed with the second book in this series, Hard To Handle, I knew I absolutely had to get my hands on this when the chance to read and review came up again. And was it as good as the first Jessica Lemmon book I read? Indeed it was. I adore the whole 'having a crush on someone from years ago and now something is happening' premise. With Kimber and Landon, it's almost like it was inevitable. It's foolish to think that it's easy to walk away once the first kiss is stolen after years of build-up, but somehow it always seems to happen. In any case, their romance heated up nicely. I enjoyed her thoughts, especially this one: "You're moving too slowly." Her voice came out all Jessica Rabbit-like, which made her want to laugh. She refused. Jessica Rabbit wouldn't laugh. Really? That's who you're channeling for this scenario? *literally laughs out loud* It's so cheesy I freaking love it. And I loved them together. The Millionaire Affair was a worthwhile steamy read. Kimber and Landon had a nice chemistry as friends turned romance. I so love discovering authors like Jessica Lemmon that have a knack for sucking me into a story and making me want to buy all of their books. That's what makes a good author, when you want to pick up more than one book by them. My Rating: Very Good

I found this to be a wonderful delight to read, the book starts out with humor and ends with it. I found myself laughing through most of the book, it is filled with wonderful characters that you will fall in love with. In fact I enjoyed it so much that I will be buying the whole series. Landon is very wealth, in fact he is a millionaire my guess is because of his college girlfriend not only dumping him but having an abortion. It gave him the drive he needed to go after what he wanted, along with using that to not let people get close so he would never be hurt again. His life was full, he didn’t need or want anything or anyone. He had his family and lived through them. Until one week when he had to take care of his nephew and found that he was too much to handle. His sister hooked him up with an old friend who needed money, she agree to watch his nephew why he worked. He found that the women in question had grown up, lord had she grown up. He also found he wanted some one on one time with her in the bedroom. Landon has spent many years not letting anyone women get to close to him. He has many lesson he will have to learn to if he wants to keep Kimber. He has a lot to learn and Kimber just might be the lady to teach him. Kimber had always had a crush on Landon, this was something she had kept to herself. She needed money to buy out her ex out of her business. She agreed to babysit for Landon, thinking she had out grown her crush. One look at him and she found she wanted him more than ever. This was one time he heartily agreed with her. Kimber has made a lot of bad choices, she finds she can’t believe in herself and doesn’t know what to do. She is torn from what she wants and what she should want. She looks at her parents marriage and doesn’t want to make the same mistakes. The question is does she keep Landon or walk away before she gets in to deep? As the story goes they couldn’t not stop themselves from having an affair. Things were suppose to be easy, just a few nights together and they would move on. As we know life doesn’t always go as we plan, things change, things get in the way. People change and life has a way of taking its own path. Sometimes we have little or no control as it does in the story. Both find they must make changes since they both want the same thing but are to afraid to show their true feelings. Can this be worked out or will they go their separate ways? It is hard for me to review this book and not give the story away. What I will say is I love this book. I didn’t find anything in it that I didn’t care for at all. It is more or less a true love story. Nothing to make it much different than a lot of other stories. What the author brings to this story is an outstanding way of telling it that will keep you laughing and at times you will laugh out loud with her wonderful sense humor. The author has a way of bring the characters to life, there is no one you will not like, there is no “evil person” just a lot of wonderful characters that keep you laughing. I found this to be a light read with no heavy things to weigh you down. This is a story for when you just want a funny, well written read, that you can set an enjoy, maybe on those days when your life isn’t going so well. It will brighten not only you day but clear your mind to bring tons of smiles to your face. I highly recommend this book to anyone who just wants a sweet read.

Ever since college, Landon has been obsessed with his career and doesn't have any time for romance. Now that he's left to care for  his nephew, he needs a little help. His always helpful sister recommends her friend from way back, Kimber, to be his live-in nanny. He hasn't seen her in years, but readily agrees to ask Kimber. Even though she's had a crush on him for years, Kimber agrees to be the live-in nanny for Landon's nephew, but knows she has to keep her crush out of things. When their attraction begins to heat up, they both agree to a no-strings affair with a time limit and a  "to be accomplished" bedroom list. Who could say no to that? Ooh, yeah! The Millionaire Affair is simply scrumptious! The hero and heroine are each insecure in their feelings and the push/pull in their relationship is so much fun. They want each other but they know they shouldn't. The condom incident was a turning point in their relationship and absolutely perfect for this particular hero and heroine. It brought the story to life and gave the reader the demanding urge to keep reading to see what happens. I loved the interaction between Landon and Kimber and the supporting characters added some fun issues for them to overcome. I love Ms. Lemmon's style of writing, her in-depth storyline, and the laughs she incorporates into the story. The Millionaire Affair is definitely a keeper!

You need to read about Landon! I've read the other books in this series by Jessica Lemmon before, and I have definitely enjoyed them. My thoughts on The Millionaire Affair though, it is a step above the others. I fell for the characters right off the bat, I adore Kimber and Landon, and even though they had their share of ups and downs, I was rooting for them. They have both been in numerous relationships their entire lives, Kimber tends to fall hard and fast, and Landon tends to keep his relationships as arrangements. When fate makes them live together for a week, the tables are turned, and they begin an extremely sexy liaison. I loved seeing Landon's brothers and cousin in this story, it brought them to life. Jessica Lemmon has hit her stride with this series, and I am so excited for more to come. The Millionaire Affair was undeniably sincere and honest and steamy. I felt that Kimber and Landon were my own family. I definitely wanted to slap them upside the head once or twice, but the chemistry between them was undeniable. This is a great, feel-good read. I received a copy from the publishers through NetGalley on this book.

Landon Downey finds himself in need of a babysitter to help with his 6-year old nephew while he's staying with him for a few weeks.  Kimber Reynolds in is desperate need of cash to help her get out of a business deal she made with her ex-boyfriend.  Landon's sister Angel, who also happens to be Kimber's close friend is more than happy to arrange a deal that will benefit both Landon and Kimber.  Landon agrees, because the geeky little girl from 16 years ago won't pose a problem, or so he thinks.  Kimber agrees because she still doesn't have that crush she had on Landon 16 years ago, or does she?  Well........when Landon opens the door to find Kimber, he is awestruck by the beautiful and feisty redhead staring back at him, while Kimber's butterflies that have been dormant for years begin to flutter once again.  Needless to say, the next week proves to be quite interesting all the way around, but when it's all said and done...will Landon AKA "The Tin Man" finally get a heart, and will Dorothy make it back to Kansas with her heart still intact?  I really liked Kimber's character.  She not only was feisty and stubborn, she was funny and easy to connect with. The chemisty between Kimber and Landon is hot, and there are some steamy scenes that will have you fanning your face.  Landon isn't the typical type of book boyfriend I fall for, but between the steamy scenes and what takes place over the course of the novel, he had totally won me over by the end.  This is my first novel by Jessica Lemmon, and the third in this series, which can easily be read as a standalone companion novel.  The Millionaire Affair is a fun, sexy, romantic novel that is filled with humor, hotness, and drama.  If you are looking for an enjoyable novel that will make you smile, then you've found it.  Check it out.

Wow! I absolutely loved this story. Both characters had issues recognizing their true feelings. Kimber always falls in love too quickly; therefore she doesn't feel she can trust her heart. Then there's Landon who was so hurt in the past, he won't let anyone in. This author was able to make you feel what the characters were feeling. What an emotional roller coaster. Definitely one of my top 10's for the year! My favorite out of the series so far!

First off let me say I ama huge Jessica Lemmon fan, as with all her other books in this series it follows basically the same story line. Broken rich guy and a broken girl. That being said I enjoyed the banter between Landon and Kimber. I especially liked the unteraction between him and his nephew Lyon. Ths book was way sexier than the other books in this series. Can't wait to resd Evans story. All in all this was a great easy summer read, and I definetely recommend it even if you haven't read any others in the series.

The Millionaire Affair, Jessica Lemmon Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews Enjoyed this read, but its light and fluffy, a typical easy to read standard romance, no big surprises. Sometimes that's what we need, and some readers want this all the while. Personally I prefer a bit more drama and depth but this was sweet, and well written. Landon, typical type A businessman, has everything tightly controlled then into that life comes looking after his nephew...six year old Lyon. He was a great kid. Any parent will recognise that moment of quietness, when you know something not good is about to happen. For Landon it was the death of his huge TV! That prompts a search for someone to be with him for the week, while Landon working. Lyon's dad usually had care of him, but he was busy finishing artworks for a project so their sister ropes in her long time best friend, Kimber. They have known her since she was a teen, what they don't know is she had a huge crush on Landon. Once they get together its clear she still has....but Landon is gob-smacked, gone is the fuzzy haired teen with braces he remembered, and in her place is a beauty who he's instantly attracted to....all parts of him including one very hard place :-) Kimber has recently broken up with yet another boyfriend, her friend suggests taking Landon as a controlled fling, someone with whom to have fun for a short time. Kimber has a history of seeing a man as her future, and they think this will help. Its suits Landon too – he doesn't want long term, but is desperate to get Kimber out of his system. They have some hot, erotic moments and then plans go astray – as they do.... Its a fun read, predictable once you get into it but good none the less. Well written, likeable characters ( that's really important to me ) and a plot that's realistic with settings that feel genuine. Stars: Four, its a good read but a one off for me. I have not noticed this series before now and I wonder why? I always love to read about millionaires that think they don't want love but in the end it is what they need. Landon Downey is keeping his nephew Lyon while his day is pursuing a job. When Landon realizes he will not get any work done, his sister Angel tells him to get a nanny. But who do you trust to watch over your only nephew? Angel suggests he call Kimber. Angel's childhood friend that Landon hasn't seen for 16 years. Kimber Reynolds has loved Landon since she was 16 years old. So what will happen when she shows up at Landon's penthouse and spends the week looking after Lyon. And don't forget, she doesn't know anything about kids. Can Kimber stick to the list and not lose her heart? Will Landon see that Kimber is what he needs? A great story about love, lust, hot millionaires, friends and family. This is a first for me by Jessica Lemmon and I loved it, can't wait to read more from this series. **Copy provided by the publisher through NetGalley**
