Overview

What exactly is a miracle? That's the question three women try to answer when one of them faces a sudden tragedy. In the process, they transform a simple friendship into a powerful spiritual odyssey.
Recent polls reveal that while most Americans believe in miracles, few feel that a miracle could happen for them. Joan, Katie, and Meb were no exception, yet each had experienced something extraordinary: Joan's son had survived a catastrophic illness. Katie had, perhaps with the aid of Divine intervention, escaped serial killer Ted Bundy. And Meb's 6-month-old daughter had suffered abuse and was now blind; she coped through the power of prayer and faith. Katie was a skeptic, Meb a believer, and Joan struggled to mediate faith and doubt. The Miracle Chase is a story of how these three friends tried to discover what religions around the world have to tell us about miracles, why some people are blessed with miracles when others aren't, and how anyone could believe in miracles in an age of science.

Get to know these three women and their amazing friendship!

A couple of weeks ago, I went to a Barnes & Noble reading by the three authors of this book: Joan, Katie, and Meb. Individually they seem astonishing. Together they share an amazing friendship that has grown over the past ten years as they created this book together. Having read the book over the past ten days, I may even be closer to believing that miracles can happen. (I was a non-believer.) They helped me understand that heritage or religious background don't matter in considering the miraculous. What does matter is faith and friendship. Read this book AND try to meet the authors in person at one of the Barnes & Noble or other nearby readings. Their energy is incredible.

Read this book, whether you consider yourself "religious" or not!

I picked up the Miracle Chase by "chance". Inside I discovered what I guess I'd always known, everyday coincidences are anything but. The women that wrote this book share a common bond of friendship but not necessarily a common view of all things divine. I found the book to be thought provoking, inspiring and distruptive to the everyday "we're right and you're wrong" mentality often found in this kind of subject matter.

Highly recommend explore your own miracle chase with these authors

I really enjoyed the Miracle Chase as I found that the intimate stories shared by the authors and their powerful inner strength guided me through my own journey to better understand miracles. The authors offer a series of lens or framweworks through which the reader can contextualize the miracles in the lives of the authors and then relate it back to their own life. I thoroughly enjoyed the mix of philosophy, religion, personal quest, spirit and logic as the authors each experienced and explored their life experiences that led them down this miracle chase.

    Worth rereading

This is a bold book about three friends seeking to understand the meaning of extraordinary events in their lives. Deeply personal, it delves into how their beliefs and friendships grow over a ten year period. Raising more questions taht it answers, it is intense and ofter haunting, inspiring rereading.

A Great Read and Book to Share

This is an engaging and beautifully told story of what happened to three contemporary women - all competent and involved wives, mothers and professionals. How they dealt with these happenings and the 10 year quest to solve and accept the mystery of their miracles as well as learn from those of others is enlightening. The reader becomes involved and feels a kinship with the three friends. As Joan, Katie and Meb grow in understanding, you the reader learn and grow through their real life stories. It is a journey that brings you to face the miracles in your own life as well.
This book is the perfect choice to share with your best friends or book club or for any special occasion as the heartfelft discussion that ensues is sure to be rewarding.

Highly recommended - check it out!

The Miracle Chase is a story that has taken three mothers ten years to write. It is a book that is meant to be read very slowly. Miracles are just part of the story. The deep friendship that these women share is the heart of the book. I needed to grab kleenex a few times before finishing their journey. I enjoyed each and every page!

    *****************

The Miracle Chase is a compelling story of incredible strength, undying friendship and faith. A must read for anyone who has questioned the "bigger picture". This book is a great gift to give to a family member or loved one. It does not try to answer all questions, more to spark your curiosity and to make you delve deep into your own soul. Bravo to three very courageous women!

I Can't Wait To Read This Book...

In the mean time, I'd like to recommend that you also buy another amazing book. It's entitled "When God Stopped Keeping Score..." an intimate look at the power of forgiveness and what I have come to realize is that it is about so much more. It's on sale here on Barnes and Nobles. Given a chance, this book could change your life.
