Overview

In bestselling author Stormie Omartian’s joyous tribute to the birth of Jesus, the events surrounding a baby born long ago in a stable come to life in stories the whole family will love.

Stormie gives the reader a warm and personal look at the age-old story of Christ’s birth. Each story provides an inviting glimpse of possible reactions, perceptions, and actions of the characters, and at the end of the chapter, Stormie provides a prayer for a modern-day audience that powerfully connects readers to the heart of a loving and compassionate Savior.

The result is a wondrous retelling of the miraculous story that remains as tender and powerful as it was when the angel choir first sang it to an audience of humble shepherds. “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”

Reviewed by Joy Hannabass for Readers Favorite What happened at that first Christmas is a miracle, but can you imagine that for all of your life, you have been dreaming about the Messiah coming, and it finally happens? That is what happened to Mary, Joseph, Elizabeth, Zacharias, Simeon, Anna, the wise men and the shepherds. Hearing that the long awaited Messiah was coming, they knew their lives would change forever. And in her book "The Miracles of Christmas" Stormie Omartian gives an account of how each of these could have felt when they heard the big news. And at the end of each chapter, Stormie added 'My Prayer to God', and 'God's Promises to Me'. Most of the time we only think of Jesus' birth during the Christmas season, but I appreciate Stormie Omartian writing a book that reminds us that the story of Christmas has meaning and hope for each of our lives everyday. As we read each chapter, we get an idea of what each person felt or thought about the Christ Child that would soon be born, and then a beautiful heartfelt prayer from Stormie to help us apply what we have just read to our daily lives. And to reinforce what you read even more, there is one of God's precious promises to give us hope and peace. "The Miracle of Christmas" is a wonderful book to use for personal devotions, Sunday school classes, and small group studies. It is very well written, and the book's layout is attractive and the graphics inside and out are beautiful and eye-catching. This is a really awesome devotional that can be used around Christmas time as well as throughout the year. So I highly recommend for you to pick up a copy for your library. And remember, don't leave it on the shelf until next December. Read it now and throughout the year to always keep your minds on Jesus.
