If you're ready to move toward more personal integrity, this is the book. Though the title focuses on monogamy, the book is more deeply about the relationships we have within ourselves, to ourselves. Peter draws from a number of disciplines in his explanation of what makes our interpersonal relations work or fail. Once we clean up our own act, our relationships with others fall into place. We no longer have to be victim to the whims of a psyche that sends us in and out of romances that just don't make sense. This even includes attachments we have to jobs, places, lifestyles. Knowing ourselves gives us so many more choices. Then, when we are faced with the challenge of monogamy, we can join that challenge with a more honest, healthier position and decide if it is truly for us at any given moment. I highly recommend this book, especially if the relationship you're in has lost some sparkle or is driving you up the wall. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. The Monogamy Challenge is a straightforward look at the pitfalls and opportunities relationships present. I appreciate the way in which the author models openness and vulnerability by courageously presenting helpful personal examples. This book is not a one-time read for me, but a reference guide I keep close at hand . So grateful to have discovered this book and delighted to share it with friends and couples who have a heart-felt desire to create and maintain intimacy. Was this review helpful? The Monogamy Challenge is a wonderful, life-enriching book that I very highly recommend to anyone wishing to engage in and understand the dynamics of a successful relationship. It takes a nonjudgmental look at our biological and psychological drives as human beings and gives practical tools for incorporating this information about ourselves and our partners into a solid, nurturing relationship. Gratitude to author Peter Kane for sharing his extensive wealth of knowledge gained from an illustrious career in relationships counseling in the pages of this book. My hope is that we'll be hearing more from him in future writings! Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
