The Moosewood Cookbook is a classic collection of recipes as well as an example of the difference a small group of people can make. Originally a spiral-bound collection of vegetarian recipes from the Moosewood Restaurant, the book is a classic best-seller for good reason. Mollie Katzen's handwritten text and illustrations give the book a warm, friendly tone and provide detailed information and instructions. My favorite section of the book is A Few Baked Things and Sandwiches. Recipes such as "Bleu Cheese Heaven" and "Celebratory Sandwiches" celebrate the simple art of sandwich making. Other sections include Soups, Salads, Entrees and Desserts. The recipes, including Sweet Potato Pancakes, Lasagne and Ricotta Pie, will appeal to vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike. I highly recommend the Moosewood Cookbook as a classic vegetarian cookbook as well as an inspiring reminder of the importance of good food and good friends.  Although it is primarily a cookbook, it is a pleasure to simply sit and read the Moosewood Cookbook.   Disclaimer: I received my copy of the Moosewood Cookbook from the publisher for free in exchange for an honest review.
