So you love secret baby stories...keep looking!

This took everything I love about a good secret baby story and made a complete flop of it!

    - Teenage Crush (Check!) Esme has been in love with Jack since she was knee high to a grasshopper. Con: She has such an inferiority complex that she spends the whole book spouting nonsense and its hard to take her seriously as an adult. It is hard to figure out why she spends the whole book mad at Jack or why she's so repressed.

    - Local Boy Makes Good (Check!) Jack goes from being the housekeeper's son to a dot com millionaire. Fraser does a good job of making it clear that he wasn't just a stablehand...he was a genius.

    - Romeo and Juliet (Check) Jack's failed non-relationship with Arabella was a completely fabricated plot device. The fact that it serves to make Esme seem even more neurotic only makes the story more annoying.

    - Secret Precocious Baby (Check) Harry is an absolute gem and probably the saving grace of the story. At times I felt bad for him having such a batty mother. The whole I would rather you sit around all day playing video games instead of being enrolled in private school because I refuse to degrade myself by letting your biological father pay the bill was once again annoying. I also felt like the author wasted an opportunity to develop Jack and Harry's relationship and instead spent useless time building of Esme's non-relationship with Bell.

Finally, after spending hours detailing people's lives the story concludes in such a rushed fashion that I threw my hands up in disgust. I feel like an idiot paying 4 buck for a 10 yr old book I could have gotten from the used book story for 50 cents and maybe I wouldn't have felt as cheated!
