Every MIL in the world needs this book! To Anonymous who said "Much of this information seems like plain old common sense" must have never met my MIL. Common sense, unfortunately, isn't very common. If it were in this case, there would not be so many stories about the "monster-in-law". Too many mothers cannot understand that their grown children are just that - GROWN. Capable of making their own decisions (that YOU may not like), living their own lives (as YOU should be, instead of meddling in theirs), and do not want your unsolicited advice/critiques. YOU did not like your MIL telling you what to do, so don't make the same mistake. It can (and WILL) cost your children - and grandchildren - a DIVORCE! So go back and re-read those 10 Commandments a few more times.

    Would make a good pamphlet.

The only inspired statement in this book was Ms. Lieberman's ten commandments. Much of this information seems like plain old common sense. It also seems as though the last chapter(s) were an afterthought.

Before you acquire a daughter-in-law, you MUST buy this book!

How I wish I had read this book three years earlier, right before my only son's wedding. This book puts things in good perspective, gives sound advice, and most of all...calms you down! Get this book, read it and re-read it. Every MIL in the world should have this book, including my own.
