The Motown Story, Vol. 1: The Sixties

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Thom Jurek
Here is yet another reissue of the legendary (or infamous, depending on your point of view) Motown Story. The reason for its controversy exists simply in the fact that all these great hit songs have narration before them and after them by artists such as Lionel Richie, Smokey Robinson, and others. If you want the story with the songs, then this is for you; all the major cuts are here.

    Motwon Story Vol, 1

Great music and some very nice stories relayed by the people who lived them. The stories are great to listen to once or twice but not everytime you want to hear the song. They should have put the commertaries on their own track so you don't have to wade through them everytime. It really distracts from the quality of the overall CD.
