Unless you've been manning a remote outpost in some corner of the globe for the last five years, you are aware of the body of research that suggests that listening to Mozart helps boost kids' brainpower. Unless you've been manning a remote outpost in some corner of the globe for the last five years, you are aware of the body of research that suggests that listening to Mozart helps boost kids' brainpower. Mozart to Go is designed to be played in the car; most of its tracks are lively rondos and other fast-paced pieces. Helpful liner notes suggest activities that you and your children can do while listening. The Presto from Mozart's String Quartet in G Major, for instance, is "perfect for practicing addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division tables." The Rondo Allegretto from the maestro's Clarinet Quintet in E-flat major, on the other hand, might inspire "a simple game of 'Simon Says.' " Probably the most familiar piece is the Rondo à la Turk given wings by soloist Jeno Jando's nimble piano. At the very least, Mozart to Go offers a refreshing change and more to do in the car than count the road signs.
