Deep in Penguin Land lived two best friends, Clutch and Haiven. Haiven was serious and studious, while Clutch was imaginative and playful. One day, a newcomer arrived in Penguin Land. He looked and sounded different from the other penguins, and because of this, they refused to accept him.

Jay Winograd is a retired music and drama teacher. He has taught band, orchestra, choir and drama in nine different countries around the world, most recently in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He has had a lifelong love of penguins, and this has inspired him to write about the adventures of two young penguins, Clutch and Haiven.
