Overview

In each Geronimo Stilton book, another funny, cheesy adventure is always right around the corner. Each book is fast-paced, with lively full-color art and a unique format kids 7-10 will love.

When my friend Petunia Pretty Paws gave me a crystal figurine of a boat as a gift, I had to accept it. After all, I have the biggest crush on Petunia! But oh, was that crystal boat ugly! So I wasn't too sad when my cousin Trap accidentally broke it, especially when I discovered a piece of paper inside with a mysterious message from someone in Venice, Italy, asking for help! A gentlemouse never ignores a request for assistance. So I, Geronimo Stilton, would do whatever it took to save the day!

Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

"Lightning pace and full-color design will hook kids in a flash." -- Publishers Weekly
Children's Literature - Nicole Peterson Davis
This book is an autobiographical story of a mouse named Geronimo Stilton who lives on Mouse Island. He runs a newspaper, and has some great friends. He also loves to travel. His crush, Petunia Pretty Paws, gave him an ugly crystal gondola from a flea market, and when it was accidently dropped; Geronimo found a note with a mysterious message. So, he went to Venice to investigate. The story line in this book is quite basic, but young readers will enjoy helping to solve the mystery. The book also contains interesting facts about the places Geronimo travels, and the things he is doing. For example, at one point in the story Geronimo becomes an apprentice in a glass factory. So, the book offers a paragraph explaining how glass is shaped and blown. There are several words in the text that are highlighted by using a different font size, color, and font style. The story is interesting and children with active imaginations will find it quite fascinating. At the end of the book there is a map of where Geronimo lives (He lives in New Mouse City on Mouse Island). The names of the places are clever and amusing. Reviewer: Nicole Peterson Davis
