He has written for the Wine Enthusiast, Food & Wine, Decanter, the San Francisco Chronicle and many other publications.
He has traveled extensively to wine regions of the world, from Chile to the Republic of Georgia.

Franson formerly managed a public relations agency he founded in Silicon Valley, worked in corporate public relations, and was a business and trade magazine writer and editor. He has published three books about marketing.
He's lived in Napa Valley since 1996 following a year in San Francisco's North Beach, and two years on his sailboat in Antigua.
He's an avid home cook and vegetable gardener.
He was long a home winemaker but quit after he moved to Napa Valley and found so much good wine to drink.
