Meet the Author

Paul Franson lives in Napa Valley, where he writes regularly about life and wine in Napa Valley and elsewhere in his NapaLife weekly newsletter, the insider's guide to Napa Valley both for locals and those who wished they lived there.

He also writes about life in Napa Valley for other publications including the Napa Valley Register and Napa Valley Life.

In addition, he writes about wine for Senior Connection, Wine Business Monthly and Wines & Vines, the Napa Valley Register, including a weekly news posting at winesandvines.com and a wine business column every other Friday in the Register. He has written for the Wine Enthusiast, Food & Wine, Decanter, the San Francisco Chronicle and many other publications.

He has traveled extensively to wine regions of the world, from Chile to the Republic of Georgia.
He also writes about food and travel.

His writing can be found on the Internet at www.NapaLife.com, a web site about Napa Valley for locals and visitors, and at www.Travel Tastes.com, a web site about wine, food and travel.

Franson formerly managed a public relations agency he founded in Silicon Valley, worked in corporate public relations, and was a business and trade magazine writer and editor. He has published three books about marketing.

He's lived in Napa Valley since 1996 following a year in San Francisco's North Beach, and two years on his sailboat in Antigua.

He's an avid home cook and vegetable gardener.

He was long a home winemaker but quit after he moved to Napa Valley and found so much good wine to drink.
