Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher
"Vivas’ delicate, sure watercolors are a reminder that the humbleness of these people made the event more extraordinary—that the story is not only about the long ago and far away but about people with familiar joys and troubles."—Kirkus Reviews

Publishers Weekly
In Julie Vivas's retelling of The Nativity, first published in the U.S. in 1988, she pictures the Angel Gabriel as a friendly teen, who tells Mary of her role over a cup of coffee. Her soft watercolors capture the holy family as expressly human and earthy. Copyright 2005 Reed Business Information.

    Great to read to Grandchildren

This was recommended to me from a fellow CASA (Child Advocate) who said she read it to her grandchildren every Christmas. I bought copies for my three sisters and 3 girlfriends to read to their grandchildren. This is a great way to start a tradition and a perfect book to tell the story. Beautiful pictures as well.
