Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
Stein has written several books on women's spirituality, but there is no indication of her background in either conventional or alternative medicine. Part 1 of her book describes ten New Age and holistic healing methods; Part 2 describes 50 conditions and diseases and suggests remedies for them. Aside from a general bibliography, no references are cited in support of any of the author's claims. Some of her suggestions, e.g., taking megadoses of vitamins, pose dangers, while others, e.g., undergoing a hair analysis, do little but waste money. Her suggestions for emotional healing basically consist of feeling yourself as part of the ``Goddess'' and turning over your worries to her. One wonders how many women will find such suggestions useful. Only for libraries with comprehensive New Age collections.-- Natalie Kupferberg, Montana State Univ. Lib., Bozeman
