Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble

One early review of this book hailed this book's author as "a master of the art [who] transformed himself from a shy guy into a master swordsman." In The Natural, this consummate pick-up artist clues men in on seduction techniques that actually work in the real world. Relationship building at its most primal level.

This was the first book I ever read about attraction, and I definitely learned a good deal from it. I think that the subtitle ("How to Effortlessly Attract the Women You Want") is unfortunately cheesy for a book that is actually filled with surprisingly practical content. The author, La Ruina, claims to have had a difficult time growing up, and I suppose this is why he is such a great teacher. He really had to work hard for his success.

The book is more than just specific lines, although a few lists of useful ones are included. This is somewhat between a novel and a guide, because there are elements of both included. La Ruina supports provides tips and supports them with stories, which adds a personal touch to it.

It's a quick read, but not one that I would recommend just skimming for useful tips. Read this one cover to cover, in my opinion. It won't take more than a few hours anyway.

Overall it's a good read. Just have realistic expectations. Like I alluded to, the subtitle is somewhat ironic, since the very topic at hand actually requires a good deal of effort (that's why we're reading it!) but that minor phrasing issue aside, I think it's a worthwhile read.
