Overview

An inspiring collection of quotes from great thinkers alongside breathtaking scenes of nature.

The idea is the basic compositional form of the trip, as it were. Within that form, I simply wander, letting myself be lured to a distant horizon where the rain is falling, or perhaps...

Overview

"I like to think of my approach to photographing as free-form jazz composition.  I plan my trips to places based not so much upon landmarks or regions, but more by what forms, textures, patterns, colors, light and weather exist there. The idea is the basic compositional form of the trip, as it were. Within that form, I simply wander, letting myself be lured to a distant horizon where the rain is falling, or perhaps following a dry wash up a desert canyon to see what marvels of forms and colors the passing of millions of years have left in the Kayenta sandstone walls." From "Notes on Photography" (Bruce Heinemann, 2004).

    Relaxing and refreshing

I am a principal in demanding school and this book sits on my desk for me, my teachers, or some students to read and reflect whenever we need to refresh. The pictures are soothing and the words selected for each page are inspiring. This book is one of the best buys I have made is a long, long time.

    Nature's Beauty

This book is filled with beautiful photographs of nature. The photos are accompanied by a wide variety of inspirational quotes. It is a book to sit down with when the hectic pace of the events around you seem overwhelming. My grandchildren love to sit with me, look at the pictures, and talk about the quotes.

    Beautiful Book

The photographs are stunning. This book is a pleasure to look at, a real spirit lifter-upper. I don't think the choice of quotes is as stunning as the camera work, but I still give it 5*

    A reviewer

Forty-five years ago I was given a beautiful large book, In Wildness, with elegant photos by Eliot Porter and quotes by Thoreau. To this day, I can't open that book without awe. This book does the same with incredibly fine use of type fonts, subtle color, superb photographs, and timeless words from a diversity of sources over a spectrum of subjects and moods all for $9.98. Bruce Heinemann has created a superb piece of art, and the Chinese printing and paper quality is so very fine. For the cost of three cards of love or sympathy, you can give this volume as a lasting treasure for generations. I bought two more today as I gave away my own the first week! It is of a size, just 9 x 10-1/4 that can easily be sent, visit a patient in a hospital, stay by your bed, or grace a coffee table or end table. I'd keep several on hand! Seriously!
