Book is accurate: I am one of the persons mentioned in this book

Wonderful book... immortalizing our beloved pet.
For the list of "15 Cats Who Traveled Long Distances..." - I am Chris Trevino, one of the owners of Ernie - the cat who traveled 600 miles. In September 1994, on our way from Washington state to Texas, Ernie jumped out of the window of our Ford F150 just outside of west Las Cruces, New Mexico - me and my now ex-wife Jennifer thought we had lost Ernie forever. He showed up a week later in Victoria, Texas - very thin and with bleeding paws. Ernie had never before been to Victoria, TX... yet there he was... meowing... and with all his strength left... rubbing against us as hard as he could. The vet we took him to said that Ernie had indeed traveled a very long distance. Ernie's story was in the local newspaper - the Victoria Advocate - and there was an article about his travel in one of the cat fancier magazines.

I am sad to say, that after a very long, happy and exciting life to the very end - Ernie passed away on March 1, 2009 at the ripe old age of 23 human years.
