Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Kristin Harris
Computer reconstructions and NASA photographs are used to present an up-to-the-minute report on the results of recent spacecraft explorations, as well as basic facts about outer space. A general description of space, with information about the moon, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn is followed by a discussion of phenomena that are not visible to the naked eye. How those data are collected and used by scientists is a highlight of the publication. Included is a poster of the International Space Station. There are a lot of books on space; this one is well illustrated and does a good job of presenting different ways humans are interacting with outer space.
