Christine Toy Johnson is an award winning playwright, actor, and filmmaker living in NYC. Her plays have been developed at the Roundabout Theatre Company, Crossroads Theatre Company, Diverse City Theatre Company, Queens Theatre in the Park and Leviathan Lab, and her documentary feature (for which she was the sole producer and co-director with her husband Bruce Johnson) TRANSCENDING - THE WAT MISAKA STORY has just been released. As a performer, she has worked extensively on Broadway, Off-Broadway, in regional theatres across the country, in film, television, and concerts worldwide for over 25 years.
She was a semi-finalist for the Ford Foundation "Leadership for a Changing World" Award in 2001, received a 2008 Boomerang Fund for Artists Award in recognition of her writing and acting careers, and in 2010 was honored by the JACL, the nation's oldest and largest Asian American civil rights organization, as an "Outstanding Woman Champion".
