Susan Weissman, author of Feeding Eden and a Huffington Post contributor, wrote:

Jenny Kales is about as savvy about the challenges of nut allergies as anyone I can think of. Sometimes people write handbooks because they can. Better to read advice from an author who should write the book and really and truly lives it day to day. That is this book. It's succinct, direct and never preachy. Allergy parents will get exactly what they need so they can move on, be safe and enjoy life.

My two year old son is allergic to peanuts, tree nuts and seeds. I've been struggling along on my own for the past year until I found The Nut-Free Mom on Facebook and have now read her book. Even with the knowledge I had I found this to be incredibly helpful with many useful tips and resources. I've learned a lot and am also using it as a tool to educate my family and son's teachers when he starts pre-school. I would advise as a "must read" for all parents of children with nut allergies as well as family, friends and educators. My mom said that after reading she has a much better understanding of what we're going through with my son and how serious his condition can be. I need all the support and understanding I can get, and I'm sure you do too!

What a truly helpful resource for this dad. My daughter has very severe peanut and nut allergies, and this book gave me all the info I needed in an engaging and concise format. The sections on dealing with restaurants and supermarket shopping are spot on, while the chapters covering social situations like birthday parties and family gatherings give invaluable advice on how to navigate tricky situations while still keeping my daughter SAFE. I would recommend this ebook to every parent or grandparent who has a loved one with a peanut or nut allergy!

This book is perfect for parents and grandparents of a nut-allergic child. It is an excellent primer for addressing the many lifestyle changes one faces after a nut allergy diagnosis. I felt less scared and more prepared to help my child manage his allergy after I read this book. I would recommend The Nut-Free Mom to anyone who has a loved one with nut allergies.
