    everything a book should be

I am a big fan of short fiction. The good old classics were short fiction. I hate how not many writers these days want to write short fiction. Who in their right mind wants to read a hundred and fifty page book? Not me. A fifty page book is more to my liking. That's what this book is. It is what a book should be. Short. Dramatic. And entertaining. I suggest everybody read this book.

    Amazing

Really good book. I'd recomend it to anyone whos read the chaos walking series or is planning on reading it. Very insightful on Viola's journey to the new world, it lets the reader fully understand how she must have felt when she first met Tom.

    Loved it

This book is very good! The series it comes from is amazing, and this adds so much to it! Reading it you know about Viola and her story but this book adds so much so you can really see "ya thats why she did that" and you understand it so much more. However you can read this without reading the rest of the series if you are someone who doesnt want to read a long book or read the language in them(it doesn't have bad language like the series)..overall I loved the book and suggest it for anyone

Highly Recommended, a must read short story

When I started to read this, I was like okay, but once you read a little bit more, the author keeps you in. I was totally freaking out for the character. Overall, amazing short story filled with adventure. Can't wait to find out more about what happens when I read the trilogy.

    Highly Recommended

This book is a great starter for the series. It is a good book for people who want to read the series. This book is also good for people who like adventure and "fantasy". I would recommend this book to a child or young adult who is interested in fantasy and such.

    Read the Novels First!

I highly suggest you read the novels first. Or at least the first one. The novels really draw you in far better than this does, and since it is so short, I believe it relies on the fact that you love the series for you to love this.

It was written pretty good, and had that same great Patrick Ness flair that I love.

My only qualm other than how short it was, is that at times, I wouldn't expect Viola to be like this, BUT you have to realize that this is before her whole ordeal on the New World.

What I do enjoy is that it is free, and gives us a good look as to how Viola got here, and how the space ship crashed, and just a nice beginning to start the novels along.

Best short story I read in decades!

Characters, conversations and emotions seem real. Felt like it could really have happen. I didn't want it to end. Enjoyable short read!
