Perfect for the Crossword puzzle fanatic

The Chicago Tribune Crossword Puzzles had been becoming a little too easy for me. Wanting a bit of a challenge, I put "Sunday New York Times Crossword Puzzle Book" on my Christmas gift list. It does NOT disappoint!!! Each puzzle is difficult, yet doable. The hardcover, spiral bound format is fantastic as I can use the book in bed, on the train, or on my lap while sitting on the couch. It has become so addictive that I have neglected my other reading and household chores. I hope there is another version of this book as I will be sad when it is completed.

    Good but small.

I only have time to do Sunday crosswords, usually Washington Post, so I was looking forward to having this if I wanted to do an extra puzzle. Puzzle quality in this book is excellent as you would expect but they are just too small for their size. Expect a headache when you finish one from the eye strain.

    Relax with a friend

The Black and White Book of Sunday Crosswords selected by Will Shortz has added to many enjoyable afternoons. Sitting in a well formed easy chair a little music in the background and book and pen in hand is one of the greatest ways to spend a free afternoon. The puzzles are well chosen and one can lose oneself in the joy of solving. It is a great way to keep your mind from going stale and meet a few old friends while you are solving.

    The puzzles are really hard!

I do a lot of puzzles, but these are difficult and obscure. Excellent for those who breeze through the Saturday NYT puzzle.
