A luxurious mansion. Thirty stunning bachelorettes. One very eligible bachelor. All of the ingredients are in place for a successful reality dating show, and behind the scenes, Tori Winters is set to pull the romantic strings as assistant director of Vows. Despite her distaste for public exhibitions of love—which spelled the death of her last relationship—Tori intends to give the public exactly what they want: scintillating footage of a bevvy of beauties vying for the attention of Christopher Caine. But Chris, a consummate Southern gentleman and the star of Vows, seems almost too good to be true—and soon, even Tori finds herself falling under his spell. Despite legal obligations to avoid fraternizing with the talent, it’s clear her feelings are anything but unrequited. With the support of her friends in the Newport Ladies Book Club, Tori must make a life-altering decision: is she willing to jeopardize all she’s worked for in order to embrace her own fairy-tale ending?

This book was SO FUN to read! The main plot is AWESOME and the subplots are WONDERFUL! SO GOOD to have someone else's drama to take my mind off of my own drama! Tori Winters works on the set of the TV reality show, Vows. She helps pull together the magic of love as the bachelor chooses one of the bachelorettes. This season is different...she, herself, is attracted to the bachelor and finds it increasingly difficult to watch him spend time with anyone else but her. And to top it all of the bachelor finds sneaky ways to flirt with her. But they have both signed a contract and will jeopardize everything if they play on their feelings. Tori's only relief from reality TV is going to the Newport Ladies Book Club. However, while there one night she realizes that real life is also filled with drama as she discovers that one of her friends from the book club has an addiction to prescription drugs. Can Tori help her friend? Can Tori keep her job? Can Tori put her heart on the line? A REALLY FUN ENDING! This book can be read as a stand alone title, but will make more sense if you have read the other books in the series...they are all PHENOMENAL!
Once again, I love these bachelor-type books, even though I don't watch the show! I've read this whole series and I'm always amazed at the details I learn about each character when a book is focused solely on her. Victoria (Tori) is a busy girl in the other books. She does something in the television industry and is always on the go, yet in this story, the reader really delves into her personal life. And what a life she leads! She's an assistant director of a reality tv show and against all odds (and legal contracts), she finds herself falling for the bachelor. What's a girl to do? That bachelor...Christopher Caine. Woo-ee! He's quite the Southern gentleman and definitely comes across as way too good to be true. But who cares, right? He's got it all--the looks, the manners, etc. I loved Tori! She's so dedicated to her job and cares so much for those around her. She notices that Ilana, from the book club, needs a little extra friendship and extends that hand to her. She befriends Shannon (also from the book club) and doesn't even seem to neglect her best friend or her family! I love the way she interacts with the bachelorettes. She's pretty much seen it all, so she almost treats them like children. Yet, amid all of her capabilities, I couldn't help but to feel a little sorry for her. Her true feelings bleed through her tough exterior. I absolutely loved every minute of it and adored the ending! One of my favorites of the series! Content: clean!
This book is engaging and fun. I was delighted to read Tori's story after seeing how she supports other characters in the Newport Ladies Book club. "Victoria's Promise" is a part of the Newport Ladies Book Club series. It works well as a stand alone book too. Tori is an Assistant Director on the reality show Vows. Her ambition is to become a screen writer. She is not prepared for the drama that unfolds as she and the bachelor of Vows are drawn toward each other. This is strictly against the contract. She tries desperately to follow the contract only to be disappointed to give up what has become the most important part of her life. I loved the ending. I kinda saw what what was coming. Still it was big fun and happened in a way I did not expect, with a few twists and turns along the way. The characters were fabulous. I really enjoyed the setting too. It was a truly an enjoyable read.
