The very first sentence of the prologue told me J. Robayo had decided to keep his writing voice fresh, and maddeningly unpredictable. After the rollescoaster of emotions Gaze was, Chapter stands alone and your emotions will be held hostage as you turn the pages. Each time I saw a familiar name from Gaze, I grinned. Once again, we are taken through a lifelong journey, this time through one of the most lovable characters I've ever read. Needless to say I fell in love with every one of them all over again, but my heart was stolen by Lewis. Once again, I laughed, I ached, and I cried my eyes out, riding currents that took me through the entire spectrum of emotions. The story is rich with significant seeds that blossom for us to harvest their value in the story. The Next Chapter has a most rewarding conclusion and it's filled with heartfelt lines of narration and dialogue. The only time I was able to take a deep breath was once I clicked over into that very last page.
The Next Chapter is a strong sequel in an age where many fail to meet the expectation set by their predescesors.
J. Robayo gives us a contemporary setting with realistic people whom you'll be hardpressed to forget. I highly recommend this series. You may be surprised at the connections you're bound to develop. A beautiful, beautiful story. You'd make a mistake to ignore these novels.
