Meet the Author

My pen name is John Eider. I work full time and write at evenings and weekends.

I've been writing for several years now; a mental magpie, I change genre a lot, most recently writing detective fiction and adventures. I have three books on Smashwords:

Detective Novels

– Not a Very Nice Woman

Alternative Future/Adventure

- The Night the Lights Went Out

I write because I have characters, scenes and stories on my mind, and need a stage for them to play on. I hope you enjoy reading them.

I found this story fairly entertaining. The young soldier had a lot to learn and, thankfully, had a more experienced person's help. For those who haven't fully considered what the long-term loss of power would do to their lives, I suggest you mentally walk through your daily life and think about it! Food and security would become your primary worries.

    Really bad concept

Okay. I read the whole book waiting for a point, maybe a plot. Nothing.

    Pass

The concept has potential but this story missed it. It is ridiculous that England would totally fall apart over the loss of electricity as presented in this story.

The story gets even sillier with the two guys hiking around to check these old defense stations.

I only got about 100 pages before I could take no more.
