Editorial Reviews

Elissa Kyle
"I started reading and immediately became hooked. I found Serafina and John to be rich, emotionally intricate characters who touched me on every level- romantically, spiritually, and psychologically. The depth of sentiment expressed throughout the novel surpassed every expectation. Their relationship was at once fragile and tender yet passionate and layered. T. Davis Bunn and his wife Isabella have given us a true gem with this powerful, compelling tale of inspiration and God's mighty love. I am eagerly anticipating the continuation of John and Serafina's story in The Night Angel coming in 2006."

"Wondering what the most romantic tale is this year? Here it is, THE NOBLE FUGITIVE, written by T. Davis & Isabella Bunn. I've never read of a more fantastic hero than John Falconer. He's an atypical leading man, less than beautiful, scarred by life on the rough seas, yet so faithful, so humble, and, yes, so noble!

Serafina is a girl who's young and in love and willing to throw away everything to be with the wrong man. As naive as she is, I identified with her and then cried with her as she realized her tragic mistakes.

But, God always works all things for good and Falconer and Serafina find each other at Harrow Hall. What a wonderful story. It reads like a Clavell novel, full of twists and intrigue and you really must take a look!"
Romance Reader at Heart

"This inspirational novel has been carefully researched and weaves fictional characters into actual historical happenings, drawing the reader into a romantic history lesson that is both enlightening and entertaining."

This is the 3rd in a series 5 Books. The series is called Heirs of Acadia. You should read them in order. 1) The Solitary Envoy 2) The Innocent Libertine 3) The Nobel Fugitive 4) The Night Angel 5) Falconer's Quest. I love these authors.

The whole series if nothing but 5 star!  Each book just gets better and better.  One thing for sure I am looking forward to reading more of Bunn's books.

Excellent story except for the ending... the story continues in The Night Angel but I would not suggest reading the sequel. Falconer and Serafina do not get together in the end. Unbelievable! Be satisfied with ending of The Noble Fugitive The relationship between Falconer and Serafina is too lovely to be destroyed in the sequel.

One of the first Christian romances i have read, it was rather well written and very touching. Serafina whose looks are as beautiful as her name falls madly in love for a man who's just using her, her parents know of hi past and how he is married but Serafina knows not. Her parents take her with them on a voyage to which Serafina gets off of the ship at a port in search for her lover only to find the real truth about him far too late. Going to the only family she can return to, an old aunt, Serafina takes a job in the lord's manor, attracting his son's unwanted attention who is a rogue by far. When the son of the manor makes his intentions clear an angel steps in and saves Serafina's honor, Falconer, a man whose past life was full of sin and unease as that which he now fights so hard against, a slave transporter. The two come together by the hand of God to help ease each other's suffering. A must read and i can't wait to read the sequel The Night Angel.

In 1832, Alessandro Gavi decides to move his family from Venice to America. However in Portsmouth his stepdaughter Serafina, used to having her way having been raised in affluence, flees the ship to find her true love, her former tutor Luca. Her plan fails and for the first time in her life she has to make her way without her father¿s wealth. She obtains work as a chambermaid at Harrow Hall as she lacks any marketable skills................ At the same time that Serafina seeks employment, sea Captain John Falconer eludes thugs who want to silence him before he reveals the outrageous slave trade practices to the Parliament. John and Serafina meet with both extremely attracted to one another. However, duty and honor comes first so he sends her away to keep her safe while he tries to complete his quest...................... Book three of the Heirs of Acadia is an entertaining historical tale. Serafina is an interesting protagonist as she chases after the only person she feels treated her nicely ever since her biological father died, but instead finds she has given up luxury and needs to work with no time to sleuth. John is a courageous person trying to do the right thing by exposing the odious slave trade practice, but his morals place him and Serafina at risk. Though less inspirational than the previous two tales, NOBLE FUGITIVE is a fine early nineteenth century saga........ Harriet Klausner
